Boom boom;

I'm not a fan of the original, but this mix makes me a believer that it deserved the attention that it got. Love the dubstep influence!

Yayaaaaa

Adam Lambert tearing up the tracks on "For Your Entertainment", and the title song would have to be my favourite~ The sound in the background reminds me of Black & Gold by Sam Sparro, which is never a bad thing. Check eitttttt~

Don't Fuss, Just Do It;

Dragonette on their own before any remixing is awesome, but with my Ministry of Sound on the download for October I found this amazing remix of their latest single. I'm loving this remix, her voice is so unique and the song is damn catchy! Check it out~

Mix It Up;

A couple great remixes to share with everyone. Hope you enjoy.

P.S. I'm back on a DnB and Dubstep kick in case you didn't notice.

Dirty Bass;

Well, seeing how I'm an advocate of DnB/Dubstep, here is something a little different again. Catchy, and makes me wish I had my 5.1 set up here so I could utilize the full potential of this song. Check it out guys!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

UGHHH;

That is all I can say about this. Pendulum please stop being so godly already? And come to BC, so I can see you live again. As for everyone else, enjoy and be amazed.

Just a fool;

A fool for good techno and electronica? That would be me! Highly recommending the SebastiAn remixes album!! I'm quite behind in acquiring it, I know... but better late than never? I absolutely looooveee his sound! I'll be scouring my resources for more of his stuff. For now, check out one of the amazing remixes on this album, I assure there will be more to come!

Monday, October 26, 2009

Branch;

Just to prove that I listen to things other than techno. This time I give you Paramore's cover of the Kings of Leon song, Use Somebody. Her voice suits the song really well I think, but maybe that's just because I love the sound of her voice :P Yep, I'm definitely a Haley fan. So if you like either of the bands, or neither, I highly recommend checking it out!

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Mashin;

Just a little random YouTube find from the other day. I'm really liking the beat in this one, check it out! The video is also a tad ridiculous, but I'm not complaining.

Yet another day;

I have been into this track since I got the Teppan-Yaki remix compilation by Shinichi Osawa, but haven't posted. It's another Japanese track by him, but one that is great and will definitely be coming out of my ipod for a while~ I have gotten into Shinichi's style a lot over the past months, I feel like I'm cheating on Nakata a bit. Oh well, all is good so long as I have good music~ No video was ever made, and the slide show has an... interesting photo. The first one I don't mind but can't say I'm a fan of the second one. You'll see what I mean... haha. Don't let it scare you away from the song though!! Please!!!

Like before;

Decided on a whim to check out some of the new Chase & Status, been a while since I listened to Drum n Bass but I still like it a lot none the less. This may be a little more pop than a lot of DnB that you can find, nonetheless I really like it. I'm getting into the DnB again, so watch out for a little of it popping up on here.

Monday, October 12, 2009

Don't Stop;

Awesome new song by Ke$ha, she was the girl featured in Right Round and a couple other songs. She's also coming out with a new single with 3Oh!3 I'm pretty sure... But this song's a great one! Classy video to boot... hah.

Saturday, October 10, 2009

I just wanna play it right;

I love Ghosts n Stuff when it was only the music track... then Deadmau5 had to take it up another level by adding Rob Swire. Oh heck yes!! It's an awesome song... and funny video. Definitely not what you would expect.

Delays;

Sooo work has taken over a big chunk of my life. That and becoming sickish recently. Although I only know of one person who bothers coming and reading my posts, I still enjoy doing it. So today I bring remixes of some songs that I've found and enjoyed recently. Hopefully you are fans of Gaga, if not, wow... unfortunate. But I came across a great remix of Paparazzi. What makes it great? It manages to sound completely different from the original, yet still holds its own. Check it out!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Turbo Love;

Just got Shinichi's latest album, Teppan-Yaki, which is a compilation of his remixes. One disc is English and the other is Japanese, and that makes no difference in the quality of his sound. I fell in love with this album in probably 5 seconds flat. Here is just one of the many amazing tracks, I HIGHLY recommend checking out the full album!

DJ's got style and I like his vibe;

Show some love for a top Japanese DJ, Shinichi Osawa, with this english track. Quite catchy and some of you may have even heard it before! The vocals are okay, I like them in the corus, but at other times I could do without them. But Osawa's work with the track is really what holds this one together,

He Came Along;

Kid Cudi has another good release in the techno genre, although I would have to pick one of the remixes over the original of the song. It jsut has a stronger beat and better synth in my opinion. The video for the original has an old west saloon theme, which is mediocre and not really my thing. Check out the new song!

Sunday, August 23, 2009

I just wanna let it go for the night;

And Guetta does it again. Got the full CD yesterday, and already fell hard for this song. Featuring Kid Cudi, who should clearly stick to electro/techno more so than rap because his songs seem to be much better in that genre. Maybe that's just me who feels that way? I don't care. Check out the song because it's damn good!

Friday, August 14, 2009

This is the best thing that could've happened;

Love. Love. Love. Cannot wait for the CD!

Monday, August 10, 2009

Why Guetta, WHY!?

Why did you have to make me like a song with Akon in it!? Only you could do it! UGH!! And I hate that I like it, but it's just too good!! I can't even justify tagging Akon on this post because I dislike him so much, ughh. Also, the single featuring Will.I.Am is awesome, just as anticipated, and is my favourite of the two. Can't wait for the full CD! Butfor now, here is a peek at a couple songs on the new Guetta CD that is to be released late August.

Lose your way with me, come boundin', steppin', Jumpin' JUMPER;

This has been a favourite song of mine for about a year now, I should have posted it much earlier, but for some reason haven't. And to start off I'll just say one thing, Yasutaka Nakata is a genius!! He has produced many successful electronic-music acts in Japan and even has his own, capsule. Capsule's sound has changed a lot over time, from something with a soft, retro, pop feel to it, to this hard synthed sound. JUMPER will always be my favourite track by capsule, but there are a lot of close seconds. Toshiko's voice is always sounding good, whether it is synthed or not, the lyrics are hard to make out, but yes they are in english. The video reminds me of some motion sensor tests on acid. Sounds weird? Yep. But in the best way possible.

Stop this beat is killing me;

I have to say this is my favourite song by Cascada. It doesnt have the same background beat that every other song of theirs does (including half of their latest CD). That fact alone makes me get bored of hearing their music really quickly, it all has the exact same sound. Also I still think that the singer looks really old and I don't find her pretty at all in this video. Sorry~ The video is really boring, so I prefer the song on it's own and like to forget that it's even by Cascada half the time haha Not that I dislike Cascada, it just doesnt sound like them. Reminds me of Gaga's back beats only faster sort of. In the end, good song to just dance too, which I'm sure was their intent.

Let it shine for you, come on;

Recently after surfing youTube I came across the Shinichi Osawa song "Our Song". I had tried to get some of his music previously but had no luck, this time I came out with the CD! Lucky me! Also another favourite on album of mine is "Star Guitar"... I'm addicted to these songs... ugh so good!! Here's the videos for both, and don't hate just because it's not made by an english producer!

Keeping it Energetic;

BoA does it again, another of my favourite tracks from her CD had a video made... check it out! It's sad that her stuff isn't played on the radio here. I'll just have to get you addicted one by one! Also this time I'm lazy to write more about this, I'll just let the video speak for itself~

The Energy Never Dies;

At least according to Black Eyed Peas that is. They recently released a huge CD. And when I say huge, I mean HUGE. It's 2 discs, including new tracks, and some old ones that have been revved up to speed with the rest of the new. The CD as a whole is pretty good, but my favourite tracks are the ones where they ran with that techno/house sound. Pretty much all of my favourites sound like the BEP had sex with some currently awesome artists in the genre and the songs are the product. A lot of Daft Punk and Boys Noize liek sound can be heard. But For now I'll talk about their latest single, I Gotta Feeling.

It definitely has that David Guetta sound going on in my mind. And I totally love that! Bonus points if you can guess what song of his it reminds me of~ But yeah, it's kind of a little minimal at points for my tastes, but that way it doesn't get boring as fast. Keeps me craving the faster parts. And I must say I'm a little let down by the addition of, "Mazal tov" to the lyrics. But for their efforts, I'll forgive them.

Eat this up;

For some crazy reason, this particular artist is getting no radio play anywhere in the USA or Canada. What the heck man!? She has an amazing album filled with hip-hop inspired dance tracks, amazing vocals, and true talent. This girl I'm talking about is BoA. I was pleased to see the So You Think You Can Dance contestant Asuka perform her Solo to BoA's song "Did Ya", but that's about all I've seen of her in the media over here. Which completely blows my mind as she has true talent unlike a lot of performers do these days. She can sing just as good as on her recordings live, NOT LIP SYNCINCING, and bust better dance moves than Britney, Christina, and all those girls combined.

So here I leave you with my favourite song from her album, after much searching for a video that didn't have embedding blocked. I have to say after watching both versions of the video for the song, one produced by a Korean producer and the other American. I'm left wondering what the hell was the American producer thinking? He had to have been out to ruin her career with his joke of a video. If you want to see either of the real music video you'll have to YouTube it yourself because this one's just a fan mash up of the Korean producer's and American producer's videos.

For now, enjoy some of BoA's hot hip-hop dance moves and go listen to her CD. Now.

UPDATE: Vote for this lovely lady here

Hold the phone;

As for songs that are going to be big on the dance floor, like Put your Hands Up For Detroit, Satisfaction, and Bring The Noise before it, Day 'N' Night will be the next in line. It's already caught on, and many of you may have at one point heard it at your local club (so long as the DJ isn't shit, like the one at Platinum hah). It takes a plain boring rap song by Kid Cudi and makes it into a seriously catchy dance track. There isn't much to say because this one speaks for itself.

Don't be on the defensive;

For the next song I'm going to talk about I'm not expecting many people to pay attention because well... It's Japanese. Andddd most people I know only want to listen to music in their own native language, which is beyond lame.

So here we have Ayu's newest single. And in case you weren't aware, Ayu is basically the Britney Spears of Japan, only she used to be a model, is in 198321083 more commercials, and doesn't lip sync. So back to the song... It's titled "Sparkle". Opposed to previous Ayu tracks it has a pretty strong electro undertone to it. (Because most of the rest of the world is smart and knows that Techno/Electro > Rap/HipHop.) It still feels like pop-rock though, so don't expect anything on the level of Perfume or capsule here. But I really enjoy the sound of the track.

As for the video it's kind of weird. To me it is Britney Spears Oops I Did it Again meets Lady Gaga meets gas masks?? Yeah you read right, gas masks. It definitely has some things that you would not ever see in a "popular" artist over here, that's for sure. I'm not quite sure I'm sold on the creepy gas mask dancers, butttt... knowing Japanese culture compared to ours, I could see how it could work. As a side note, the tight vinyl-esque suits she is wearing show off her super tiny model frame. I had no idea how tiny she really was until this video! But none the less she manages to make everything look hot, minus the over the hooker boots she wears in the black outfit... because those she could have done without.

I Can Do Anything You Can Do Better;

The Pussycat Dolls. I remember the first time seeing them on MuchMusic and all I could think was "raging sluts". I didn't like any of their songs until recently (When I Grow Up). But even then, the novelty wore off quickly.

Recently in my on going search for new good songs I came accross one that upon watching the video and listening to it made me realize, they are doing everything these girls damn well can't. Especially with the sound of their music.

AKA, Rudenko rocks, PCD are so beyond out.
